Celebrating 100+ Sponsors For The WATER Act

Fueled by the crisis in Flint, Food & Water Watch worked on a key piece of legislation in early 2016: the Water Affordability, Transparency, Equity and Reliability Act – the WATER Act. This month we reached an important milestone in this six-year campaign. Since its inception, more than 100 representatives and 6 senators have now officially endorsed the WATER Act.

The WATER Act is the only comprehensive approach to improving our drinking water and sanitation systems. It will set up a trust fund to provide funds to meet the levels the EPA says we need to update and repair our public and domestic water systems. To that end, the law provides $35 billion annually to restore the country’s public water infrastructure.

Hot Water Heater From Mixergy Named Housebuilder’s Best Product Of The Year

An integrated heat pump cylinder designed by Oxford University spin-out Mixergy has won the Brand New Product award at the Housebuilder Product Awards. This product will be a game changer for home builders, as it delivers hot water in 30 minutes – 10 times faster than commercial competitors. The new cylinder brings with it all the smart advances offered across the Mixergy range, including top-down heating, intelligent tariff usage and machine learning. Not only does this make it the perfect choice for initial installations, but also for retrofit projects where homeowners or property managers are looking to reduce the carbon emissions of their housing stock.

Inflation Reduction Act offers opportunities for plumbing contractors

Last summer, President Joe Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. The estimated $737 billion legislation could mean thousands of dollars to improve building efficiency. The law aims to fight inflation, invest in domestic energy production, manufacturing, and reduce carbon emissions. The Act presents an opportunity for plumbing and HVAC contractors, who can leverage tax credits when selling system upgrades to their customers.
