United Utilities is the first water company to introduce an innovative low-carbon, chemical-free wastewater treatment process for use at small locations. Lisa Mansell, chief engineer for innovation and carbon at United Utilities, said: “We are always looking for ways to both improve the wastewater treatment process and reduce the use of chemicals – FujiClean offers both.”

Louis Devine won the 2024 Plumbing World Young Plumber of the Year competition and will now move on to the national final to be held on Wednesday, October 23rd. Devine competed against eight other plumbers; this was his third time competing.

A growing number of Generation Z plan to work traditional blue-collar jobs in occupations such as welding, plumbing and electrical work as young adults lose confidence in the value of a college degree, according to a new study.
About 23% of Americans who are not currently in the trades sector say they plan to move into the blue-collar sector – but according to the study conducted, this number rises to 50% for members of Generation Z.
The survey of 2,091 people aged 18 and over found that Generation Z is becoming the “tool belt generation” due to changing attitudes and the rising cost of college education.

Cleveland State Community College Workforce Development hosted a plumbing boot camp at the Cleveland State Plumbing Lab. Working with City Fields, seven students completed the 60-hour boot camp and earned three National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) RIDGID certifications: Manual/Hand Tapping, HVAC/Plumbing Pressing, and Power Machine Tapping.
This was the first plumbing boot camp for the college.
